Join Francesco Milioto and the New Millennium Orchestra for an evening of exciting and innovative music, featuring Claire Chase of ICE performing Saariaho’s sensual, elemental concerto for flute and orchestra, Aile du Songe – literally “Wing of the Dream.” A trailblazer in the new music world, Ms. Chase has been lauded worldwide as a spellbinding performer of frightening virtuosity and poise. The program will launch off with Mason Bates’ Mothership, an electro-acoustic tour de force in which the orchestra transforms into a thrumming center of energy, “docked” into by a series of soloists. The second half of the program will close with Brahms’ unforgettable Symphony no. 4.
