Under the artistic leadership of Glenn Edgerton, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago celebrates 34 years as one of the original forces in contemporary dance and as one of the world’s most important contemporary dance companies. Critically acclaimed for its exuberant, athletic and innovative repertoire, Hubbard Street presents performances that inspire, challenge and engage audiences worldwide. Hubbard Street serves as an emblem of the city’s international cultural profile and continues its role as a leader in the dance field, pushing the art forward by creating new works, diversifying repertoire, and cultivating the next generation of dancers and choreographers.
The company also contributes to dance’s evolution by collaborating with artists in music, visual art and theatre. By presenting four distinct programs throughout the year at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park, Hubbard Street is deepening patron relationships and furthering its investment in the cultural life of Chicago. Hubbard Street believes that when bodies move, minds sore and in 1997 Hubbard Street expanded beyond its main company to include Hubbard Street 2, which cultivates young professional dancers and choreographers and performs nationally and internationally.
